Lucía Fernandez

Operations Coordinator

Lucía Fernandez is an operations and strategy professional with a passion for education, community impact, and organizational development. She graduated from Rice University, where her studies in sociology and Latin American studies sparked a lasting interest in the ways people, institutions, and culture shape the communities around us. 

At The New School, Lucía works across school operations, strategy, financial management, and organizational initiatives, always with an eye toward making the school experience stronger for students, families, and faculty. She believes that education is about much more than academics — that physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being are all essential to helping young people grow into themselves and into their communities.

When she’s not at school, Lucía loves playing intramural sports, dancing, making music, and hanging out with her animals!
