In this course we will conceptualize and produce an actual newspaper featuring topics that are of interest to students at The New School and members of the local community. Roles and duties will include writing, editing, copyediting, web design, social media management, layout design, advertising, photography, and more. This course will provide students with an opportunity to learn about the inner workings of newspapers and share their passions with the world in print!

Instructor
Isadora is a local photojournalist, artist, and educator with a penchant for printed matter. Since graduating from Georgia State University in 2011 with a BA in Studio Art, she has worked as a graphic designer for six newspapers; the Daily Report, Atlanta INtown Newspaper, and the Buckhead, Sandy Springs, Brookhaven, and Dunwoody Reporters. Handling everything from layout design to ad creation, pre-press, and even web design, she has extensive experience in the production of newsprint. Additionally, she has worked as a pre-production graphic designer for screen printing at Mindzai Creative, a local print shop, and has participated in several years of the Atlanta Zine Fest for which she made small scale zines on various topics. Recent teaching experience includes being a Teaching Artist at the High Museum, leading a zine workshop at Wonderroot, and a terrarium workshop for CREATL Family Fun Days at the Woodruff Arts Center.
