Monique Nunnally

Director of Community Engaged Learning

A native Atlantan, Monique brings her background as an entrepreneur and certified English/Language Arts Educator at Atlanta Public Schools (APS) to TNS in her role as Director of Community Engaged Learning. At APS, she guided and facilitated project-based learning (PBL) experiences rooted in culturally responsive content (CRC) for her students. During her tenure as an educator, she spearheaded the first black student published anthology in APS, entitled, Backwoods Artists: Making a Mosaic from Nothing, where students explored their cultural, socio-political and personal identity. It was through these experiences as an educator that led her to also become an edtech entrepreneur and found Teach X, a training and tech platform to support other educators in designing authentic CEL experiences with CRC for students like hers.

Additionally Monique is a dynamic leader in the greater Atlanta community, serving as the Atlanta Neighborhood Planning Unit Y Vice Chair and Education Committee Chair. She is a Georgia Bulldawg graduate, a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, and a proud new mommy who truly loves watching her baby and her students grow while they find their own path forward!
