In Projects this year, we were tasked to come up with a solution for a problem as a part of Georgia Tech’s inVenture Challenge. We chose to focus on kids’ access to sports during coronavirus. This slideshow explains our problem, our solution, a prototype of our solution, and why we think our solution is the best. We started this project by narrowing a topic into something more specific. At first it was sports accessibility, and then we got more specific to get to our current topic. After that, we brainstormed a solution and came up with the idea of making a website where we have videos giving step-by-step instructions on how to get better at soccer. We chose soccer because we all have experience and two of us still play it. We then met with professionals and were given feedback on how to improve our solution.
This work is important to us because having a sport to play during coronavirus has been very important for our own mental and physical health. It is also something that not all kids can do because of strict parents or health problems. This makes me feel like we can help kids have what we don’t, and we have worked really hard on the website, prototype, and speeches. We also learned how to make a pitch and a prototype for a website, things none of us had done before.
