ARTIST STATEMENT

This project was the last project we did for art class and was a collaboration between me and Lila Persia. She drew the original sketch of the snake and I added everything else. This painting represents my new found love for maximalism that I’ve been experimenting with over quarantine. I feel like this piece really shows how much I’ve grown as an artist.

I’ve had a lot of experiences with art block over the course of this school year due to focusing on school work and not having much time to be able to paint. This piece represents me finally being able to sit down and spend hours painting which I love to do but just haven’t had the time. This piece also represents my new found love for maximalism that started over quarantine. This is a collaborative piece with Lila Persia Trevena who drew the outline for the snake.
