Beverly Coleman

Beverly Coleman

Interim Director of College Counseling

Throughout her sixteen years as Director of College Counseling at Hyde School in Woodstock, CT and Bath, ME, Beverly described her position as “the best job in the place.”  She considers it a privilege to touch the lives of young people during the transition from high school to college; to cheer them on as they chart the course for the next phase of their education and life journeys.  Beverly is delighted to emerge from retirement and spend a few months at The New School doing just that while Anna Pless Peel is on maternity leave.

A graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in psychology, Beverly has lived in seventeen different places.  Her two children are grown with families of their own: a son in Camas, WA and a daughter in Atlanta.  She’s also a grandmother of four.  Beverly now calls Atlanta home, having moved here in March 2019.
