PROJECT DESCRIPTION

My exhibition piece is a book that I made of short stories my mom made in her 20s. In the fall we had a conversation about how one of her biggest goals as a writer was to be published. However, when she was writing, there was no way to be published if not in an official magazine or with a company. Self publishing wasn’t really a thing. For 6 months I have practiced making books, going through much trial and error with the end goal of being able to create a book of some of my mom’s short stories. Through out this process I went from not having the slightest clue of how to create a book to creating draft after draft of the book to finally being able to make one of my mom’s long lost goals a reality.
