Learning improvisational techniques will help you become a better conversationalist, public speaker, help you sell your ideas, or make new friends. You’ll learn how to think up new ideas and material on the spot and trust that whatever you say on stage is correct. You’ll learn, and develop your own games and exercises with a small class of only 12 others with a showcase performance on the famous Dad’s Garage Improv stage!
10 Weekly Sessions
Perry had just graduated from high school when she saw her first show at Dad’s Garage in late 2007. At the time she was in nursing school, having wisely avoided any theatre training whatsoever up to that point. She began the slow crawl to the stage through volunteer work, improv classes, and late-night riffing with her drunken mentors. After a year in the Rookies program she was invited to perform in both scripted and improvised shows. Since then she’s ditched the medical field, because while laughter may not actually be the best medicine, at least she doesn’t have to ask people for an insurance card before administering it. She does school shows around town with Laughing Matters and (no offense, adults) loves teaching improv to children more than anything on Earth.
