The Invisible Dude

ARTIST STATEMENT

In Film, our teacher Chris had us in groups to create a film with some sort of superhero. My group chose to make a film about an invisible man. Carter suggested the initial concept of an invisible dude and gathered all the film’s info to generate a website. Since we weren’t able to see each other in person the project mostly consisted of green screen magic in order to make our ideas come to life. We started by creating a storyboard where most of our ideas were fleshed out. After we had come up with a premise, characters, and our roles for the project, we moved on to writing a script. During the script-writing process, we had fun acting out some scenes and coming up with silly comedic dialogue to fit our characters. The rest of the project was filming our scenes in front of a green screen and sending the footage to our editor, Niles. Learning to use and edit on a green screen as well as communicate with group members online were both valuable tools to learn, and ones that we will surely apply in the future. James Brathwaite served as the leader of our group; he put in lots of work to make sure all our group members stayed on top of their tasks and submitted the work. We all really put the effort in to create a product we’re all proud of.
