Introducing TNS X

TNS X After School Enrichment

An after school interactive learning experience open to all Atlanta-area high schoolers.

Interested in designing a drone? Want to sharpen your photography skills? Curious about lost heritage traditions like foraging, canning, and herbal medicines? How about learning improv comedy?

The New School is hosting student workshops to teach all of these skills (and many more!) every day after school. We’ve partnered some of Atlanta’s most innovative makers, artists, and tech entrepreneurs to develop TNS X, our after school extracurricular program.

Our project-based curriculum already has students doing everything from building smart classroom devices to piloting fair trade businesses during the school day. But our students wanted even more opportunities to learn new skills and engage with the city around us. We responded by developing TNS X, but we took it a step further and opened the program to eighth through twelfth graders across metro Atlanta.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be highlighting each of our current TNS X courses on the blog.

Hope to meet you around the pottery wheel or over build-outs of our drones!

Registration will open for the next series of X courses later this semester. In the meantime,  free to contact James Watson, our TNS X Director, at james@newschool2016.wpengine.com.
