Peter has taught English and the humanities for most of his professional career, first at School One in Providence, Rhode Island, and later at Lynchburg College, Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, and the University of Virginia. Most recently, Peter taught English, the humanities, and six different AP courses for 10 years at Ben Franklin Academy. Peter worked as a corporate attorney for several years in the 1990s before returning to teaching at the high school level. He has a B.A. from the University of Virginia, an M.A. in English from Hollins College and a J.D. from the University of Virginia where he was on Law Review.
