Over the past 20 years, Andrea has taught mathematics at all grade levels of the K-12 curriculum and over 25 courses in mathematics and mathematics education at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the non-profit, Math for Adults Foundation, aimed at forming mathematical learning communities among parents, teachers, and children. Her research interests while faculty at The University of Georgia and The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point have focused on parent involvement in mathematics, lesson study, and prompting mathematical knowledge for teaching, with publications in Educational Studies in MathematicsSchool, Science, & Mathematics; and Teaching Children Mathematics. She has a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from Illinois State University.
