6:30pm – 9:30pm

Join other TNS families on Earth Day for a delightful evening of community and shared experiences! Our time together will feature experiential learning workshops in design, building, community awareness, and possibly even some improve acting (see below for details). TNS students are creating a lovely, organic and sparkling environment for us to join in celebrating the spring and a successful 2016-2017 year. Experience The New School will also include a fantastic silent auction and a few special live auction items.

Tickets: $35 – Individual | $50 – Couple

Tickets include admission, one experiential workshop, and two drink tickets.

We will also have a food truck on hand for dinner (for purchase).

All proceeds go toward the upstairs addition of the school.

Experience Workshops

Blind Contour Drawing Workshop. Yoyo (Benito) Ferro, a Brazilian artist now living just a couple of blocks away from TNS will take us through his famous “blind contour drawing” workshop. Benito’s iconic line drawing style has been featured on major festival posters, websites, walls and buildings around town. Learn some of his drawing secrets in this hand’s on experience.

Business Development Workshop. Marshall Seese Jr is a lawyer, turned entrepreneur, turned professional musician and a lead facilitator at the Bunnell Idea Group. Their GrowBIG® system features the latest behavioral science techniques that will help you not just develop your business, but better understand other people and relationships.

Improv Comedy Workshop with Dad’s Garage. Comedian, actress, playwright, and favorite TNS-X instructor, Perry Frost, leads a taster session packed full of improv warm-ups, games and exercises that will leave you in stitches. By the end of the session you’ll be on top form, ready to bring your a-game to the rest of the event.

Design Thinking Workshop. Hundreds of things we experience every day – shoes, toasters, office chairs, HOV lanes – are the product of laborious design. What makes great design? Sarita Alami (with some help from a TNS teacher or two) will lead a tour of the principles of design, and participants will put those principles to use as they become designers. This session will change the way you look at the world around you!

We cannot guarantee your top choices, but we’ll do our best to accommodate!
