TNS X – Intro to Drone Design
5:30 – 7:30PM WEDNESDAYS: INTRO TO DRONE DESIGN
Learn how to build your own drone with MASS Collective!
Start Date: 9/2
Program Length: 8 weekly sessions
Location: MASS Collective Maker Space
Instructor: Kyle Howser (Lead) & Various from MASS Collective.
When Kyle Howser isn’t busy building movie sets, maker spaces, or sculptures, he likes to unwind by throwing custom built planes into the sky and testing his skills against the crushing inevitability of gravity. When it comes to building custom tools to explore the line where form meets function, it’s typically not enough for Kyle that the plane flies; it must look great while doing it!
Description: In this course students will explore the world of remote controlled and autonomous flight. Students will learn the basics of electronics and aeronautical design, prototyping their own vehicles, selecting and installing sensors, and learning to take and use sensor data to assist in launching, flying, and landing various aircraft designs. Students will get hands on experience with Radio Controlled Actuators, the Arduino programming platform, and rapid prototyping utilizing MASS’s BOSS Laser Cutter.
