TNS X – Creative Writing

Creative Writing

In Partnership with Suzanne Mozes at Under/Over/On as part of the Storybuilding Series

Start Date: 9/3
Program Length: 10 weekly sessions

Description: The teen writing class is creative exploration of language—no grades, no wrong answers, no tests. Students will explore different voices and storytelling forms as they investigate the writing process through poetry, fiction and nonfiction. Students will experiment with imagery, characterization, dialogue, and narration in their own writing while reading works by professional working authors. Students will cull together a portfolio of original work, and the class will culminate in the students leading an Under/Over/On writing session for their peers.

Instructor: Suzanne Mozes
Suzanne Mozes earned her MFA at Columbia University and her BA at Middlebury College. Her first book, a narrative biography of Dante Gabriel Rossetti, will come out with W.W. Norton next year. She founded Storybuilding and Under/Over/On in 2014.
