Podcasting – Spring 2016

In this podcast class, students will MAKE A PODCAST on some subject of their choosing in whatever style seems to suit them best. Along with weekly workshops and lessons, there will be some cool guest speakers from all walks of audio life in Atlanta. Students will be required to collect some audio outside of the classroom setting. The class is open to anyone from beginners who need basic training to aficionados who need additional tips on how to make their podcast flawless.

About the instructor:
Gabbie Watts
Gabbie Watts is a radio producer at WABE 90.1 FM, Atlanta’s NPR station, focusing on local arts and culture coverage. 

Gabbie Watts holds a BA from Princeton University, where she majored in history and minored in French language and culture. Her final thesis project focused on the whiskey industry and production in the 19th century. At Princeton, she was also involved with Princeton’s community radio station WPRB and the Princeton University Orchestra and also wrote for The Daily Princetonian’s arts and culture blog. She also interned with WLRN in Miami in the Summer of 2013, reporting radio stories for the air and in digital formats.

Gabbie Watts love music. She has played the double bass for 13 years and played in numerous ensembles throughout elementary school, middle school, high school, college and adulthood. She tinkers in guitar and electric bass and writes songs. She was a music DJ on WPRB Princeton for three years. Her biggest moment was when she hosted an exercise radio show called, “Squatts with Gwatts.”
